A fascinating exhibition, exploring the history of coal mining in Lanarkshire – the people who worked in the pits, the ponies who were used in the mines and the stories of miners, their families and their lives in the mining communities.
Organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture Museum Service, it was part of a two year project which involved young people, community groups and retired miners who all came together to create resources to celebrate Lanarkshire’s incredible mining heritage. Also featuring archival photos and artefacts from North Lanarkshire’s museum and heritage collections.
